It also addresses those installations that are no longer operation, so as to learn lessons and share experience.

The principal questionnaire addresses producers, suppliers and those working directly in the sector. It is available online and also in Word format attached here. A second questionnaire (more qualitative) is attached here and is targeted towards those in the research sector. Please return the questionnaire(s) directly to Maddi Badiola at maddibadiola4@hotmail.com or mab00059@students.stir.ac.uk Any questions or comments should also be addressed to Maddi.

CALLING ALL BUDDING RESEARCH ENTREPRENEURS - Are you ready for a challenge?

The Vocational Aqualabs consortium is seeking students to participate in an Aquaculture Talent Hatchery (ATH) challenge. The Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Mentorship program seeks to provide early career researchers with the knowledge, skills and motivation to encourage the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. With support from their assigned mentor, participants will work in teams (mini-companies), competing against other international teams (Spain, Greece, United Kingdom and Ireland).

There are only three places available per participating partner country, so it is anticipated that acceptance into the programme will be highly competitive. The challenge will consist of training, a six week challenge where teams develop business plans and a final presentation to a panel of ATH mentors and industry representatives at Aquaculture Europe (AE 2011) in Rhodes in October where the teams will have the opportunity to showcase their final business plan. An ATH award will be presented to the most innovative and professional team. For more information and application criteria download the advertisement (PDF).

If you think you have got what it takes please send an email with your Curriculum Vitae stating why you would be a suitable candidate for the challenge to: Spanish Team - Clive Dove (cdove@innovamar.org), Greek Team - Panos Christofilogiannis (panos@aquark.gr), United Kingdom Team - John Bostock (j.c.bostock@stir.ac.uk) or Irish Team - Olivia Daly (olivia@aquatt.ie).
